An Interconnected Criminal Ecosystem: Transnational organized crime threat assessment for Southeast Asia 2026

Report launch, Tuesday, 21 July, 10am

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)’s regional office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific is pleased to inform that its latest report “An Interconnected Criminal Ecosystem: Transnational Organized Crime Threat Assessment for Southeast Asia 2026” will be launched at the club on Tuesday 21 July 2026 at 10am.

Transnational organized crime in Southeast Asia has entered a new phase. Criminal markets that were once largely separate have converged into a sophisticated, resilient and globally connected criminal ecosystem whose proceeds, victims, and infrastructure now span every region of the world. The scale of what has emerged in Southeast Asia, and the speed at which it has grown, demands a fundamental reassessment of how the international community understands and responds to organized crime. UNODC will provide a comprehensive briefing on the findings during the launch event, which will also be shown on Facebook via a livestream.

Opened by Delphine Schantz, UNODC regional representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, the session will be moderated by communications officer Laura Gil, and include a briefing by lead analyst Inshik Sim, followed by time for questions.
