Notice to all members concerning the Annual General Meeting scheduled for Friday, 25 March 2022 at 7pm
As members will be aware, the FCCT has been through its most challenging year since the club came into formal existence in 1956. We have been through lockdowns that have made it impossible for the club to function normally, organize programmes, and run bar and restaurant operations.
Two years ago, the executive committee decided that it would be unwise to proceed normally with the annual general meeting in the clubhouse because of the COVID-19 risks. Last year, we did better and held a socially-distanced meeting following the normal agenda with a limit of 60 people in the clubhouse.
This year, we hope to have an almost normal meeting. We would ask those planning to attend to be fully vaccinated, and if possible to take an ATK test before coming. ATK tests are available at the reception at cost price for those preferring to take a test on the spot.
As was done last year, absentee ballot forms are being sent to all correspondent and journalist members, and they are being asked to endorse the proposed slate for the 2020 executive committee and a number of overdue updates and revisions of the club’s constitution and bylaws.
It is essential that as many correspondents as possible respond so that a quorum can be established of those in the clubhouse and those unable to attend in person.
If they wish, correspondents and journalists may sign a proxy form that they can
return to the office instead of an absentee ballot. Instructions, including limitations, appear on the form.
Under Article 9 of the FCCT’s constitution, an extraordinary general meeting can always be called should eight or more correspondent members in good standing request one.
