The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of David Swartzentruber who drowned accidentally over Christmas. He had a long history of heart problems.
Swartzentruber, 79, a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, was a journalist member of the FCCT. He worked previously at the Bangkok Post and contributed to the Thousand Islands Sun, a print-only weekly in New York State. A wine aficionado, he hosted several highly enjoyable wine evenings at the club.
David’s relatives have requested a Catholic funeral, and details will be published when these are confirmed.
