In the months following the Feb. 1 coup in Myanmar, more than 750 civilians have been killed and thousands have been detained, amid reports of torture, harassment and state surveillance. At the frontline are Myanmar media organizations, some of which have seen their licenses withdrawn, offices raided, and at least 60 journalists arrested.
Many journalists have fled or gone into hiding without their computers and cameras, or have seen their equipment destroyed by security forces. The FCCT is asking members and friends to donate any computers (both laptops and desktops), cameras or any other electronic equipment you no longer use but could be of great help to Myanmar media, both inside and outside the country.
We would be grateful to receive equipment in good working order, preferably recent models. Please note we will not be accepting equipment that is outdated or in need of repairs.
Donations can be sent to the FCCT, during our opening hours from 10am to 9pm. For enquiries, please email: info@fccthai.com or robinson.gwen@gmail.com, or call the FCCT during opening hours.
